About event

Son of singer Joe Dassin, grandson of film director Jules Dassin, Julien is the third generation of the creative Dassin dynasty! Joe Dassin passed away when Julien was only 5 months old...

Having started his creative career as an actor in the theater, he offered the public the first album with the songs of Yves Montand. Three years earlier, he had played more than fifty concerts in the largest cities of Canada and the United States, dedicated to the memory of his famous father.

In 2016, he recorded a new version of "Champs Elysees", which was included in the Joe Dassin tribute album (Double Gold Disc - Sony Music), accompanied by the famous Russian choir, with whom he traveled around France and triumphantly performed five nights at the Olympia in Paris.
Julien Dassin surrounded himself with the best French musicians who make up the Paris-Tour Eiffel orchestra (among them his father's drummer, pianist Charles Trenet and accordionist Charles Aznavour) and makes a tour with them, in which he pays tribute to his father as well as to the greatest composers of French songs!
In March 2017, he began a new tour of France (still with the famous ensemble) and spent a sold-out week at the Salle Pleyel in Paris.
In June 2018 he recorded a duet with Natacha St-Pierre for the musical and returned to the studio to record an album with Les Compagnons. The recording was released by MCA-Universal. And in August 2018, together with the orchestra, he performed with great success at the final day of the International Theater and Film Music Festival "Jūras Pērle".
In 2019, Julien travels the world to present his new show "100% Dassin". He also performed on stage at the Warsaw Opera as part of the French Touch Week celebrations.
In 2020, he is preparing a tribute to Joe Dassin and recording the songs of Joe Dassin "Dans les Yeux d'Émilie" for the tribute album "A Toi" released by Sony Music in autumn 2020.
With the Paris-Tour Eiffel he recorded a new album, Dassin Globe-Trotter, in which he performed his father's most famous songs, as well as some other classic French songs.

Now Julien, together with the Paris-Tour Eiffel orchestra, begins tours around Europe on the eve of the anniversary of Joe Dassin, who would have turned 85 on November 5th.

Julien is the third generation of artists of this family, whose name has been shining on the pediments of theaters and music halls for more than a century.
