On Wednesday, August 20, at the cultural venue Hanzas perons in Riga, the dance performance "To Meet" (Satikt) by the choreographer-dancer duo IevaKrish will take place.
"To Meet" is a performance composed of acoustic singing, immersive choreography, and moving sound. It explores the polyphony of traditional Lithuanian sutartinės (multipart songs), viewing them as a form of indirect interpersonal dialogue. In the simultaneity of voices, subtle differences are highlighted as complementary elements. Just like in sutartinės, the voices in "To Meet" aim to differ from one another by only a “tone.” The performance may be seen as an attempt to meet—by emphasizing dissonance.
The performance is accessible for individuals using wheelchairs. As a concert in motion, "To Meet" is also suitable for people with visual impairments.
