On April 8 of this year, Riga will host the ninth high-level financial sector forum, the Baltic FinReg Summit, bringing together leading industry experts to discuss current trends and opportunities in the Baltic financial sector.
Traditionally, the FinReg conference provides a unique platform to hear from top experts from the financial supervisory authorities of all three Baltic states. Together with business representatives, they will address key issues related to sector oversight and regulation. Given the increasing geopolitical tensions and uncertainty, this year's event will focus on the resilience of the financial system in crisis situations and financing in the defense sector. Additionally, panel discussions on financing and payment ecosystems will analyze current trends and potential development directions for financial services.
"The resilience of the financial system and preparedness for various economic and geopolitical scenarios are of critical importance. A broader regional dialogue is essential for navigating complex global conditions and generating innovative ideas for business growth and sustainable industry development. Achieving these goals is only possible through collaboration between the industry and regulators. This was precisely the purpose behind establishing the FinReg platform. I am pleased that it has evolved into an institutional platform for analyzing Baltic financial market trends and facilitating dialogue between the industry and regulators," said Lauris Liepa, Managing Partner at COBALT.
Throughout the day, more than 20 industry experts will speak at the summit, including:
